I have never written a review for a medical or dental office before, but Westgreen Dental absolutely deserves one. I came in with an infected broken tooth, terrified, embarrassed, and anxious. Between a diagnosed anxiety disorder, difficult past dental experiences, and financial strain from a divorce, I hadn't seen a dentist in more years than I care to admit. I left after one of the best experiences I've ever had at ANY medical office. From the moment I arrived, these ladies were incredible. The young receptionist (I wish I'd caught her name!) noticed my book, asked what I was reading, and chatted with me like we were old friends. Such a small gesture made a huge difference to someone already nervous. My dental assistant, Kayla Marble, was wonderful. When I admitted how long I'd avoided the dentist because of fear, she was completely understanding. When I caught a glimpse of my X-rays and asked a question, she happily pulled them up and explained them slide by slide. She never made me feel rushed or silly for asking questions or like I was taking up her time. And Dr. Sydney Oorlog? I cannot say enough good things about her. She explained that I needed a root canal, but there was a chance the tooth couldn't be saved. Rather than pushing a more expensive extraction and implant, she wanted to try to save it. And she did! She also honestly explained what other dental work could safely wait until my finances or insurance improved, without pressure or scare tactics. What meant the most was how seriously she took my concerns about pain. I have a tested condition that makes certain medications and numbing agents wear off unusually quickly. Previous providers have dismissed me, and those experiences are a big part of why I stopped going to the dentist. Dr. Oorlog listened, and immediately discussed the condition with me, how it can be hereditary/common in redheads, and adjusted the anesthetic BEFORE starting. She was proactive instead of reactive. She checked on me throughout. The one time I flinched, she stopped before I could even speak, asked if I was hurting, and immediately addressed it. I felt believed and safe. She even asked whether I wanted each step explained or preferred to just get it over with (definitely the latter 😂 but the option was appreciated). She listened as I bragged about my four kids, and when I asked for a stress ball so I wouldn't dig my nails into my hand, she said that was actually a great idea for the office in the future and found me a pretty blanket to hold instead! Their attention to detail was just as impressive. My temporary crown wasn't fitting quite right, so Kayla and Dr. Oorlog took the time to adjust the fit and color until it blended with my other teeth. All that effort for something TEMPORARY! After dreading a root canal for years, I had almost no pain during it and only minor discomfort afterward that was short lived and could be handled with a few ibuprofen. Then there was the financial kindness. A woman (maybe the owner? Again, I'm terrible with names) in the front office reviewed my insurance (which, frankly, sucked), sat down with me privately to explain costs and payment options, and even waived one procedure charge to help me afford treatment. I nearly cried. No one made me feel ashamed of my finances, my dental history, or what I'm going through personally. I wasn't treated like a walking dollar sign or a patient who'd neglected her teeth. I was treated like a person. I walked in terrified of the pain and the bill. I walked out with my tooth saved and, for the first time in years, no dread about returning to a dentist. To Kayla, Dr. Oorlog, and everyone at Westgreen Dental: thank you for listening, believing me, and treating me with such compassion. If dental anxiety, bad past experiences, or embarrassment have kept you away, please give these ladies a chance. Five stars don't feel like enough. ❤️

Dr. Sydney, Lynn, and Dawn are WONDERFUL. I am such an anxious patient, and they really helped me calm down and not hate the dentist office!

I had a great experience at this dental office! The entire team was welcoming, professional, and made the visit comfortable from start to finish. Tahira, the RDA, did an amazing job and was very kind and attentive. Dr. Sydney was wonderful, and Dawn at the front desk was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Everyone worked together to make the experience smooth and stress-free. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients. Highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dental team!

We had a wonderful experience at Westgreen Dental & Orthodontics! Dr. Kayla Oorlog was very professional, gentle, and patient with my children. I especially appreciated how she took the time to explain each step of the procedure. For example, when removing my child’s space maintainer, she carefully explained what she was going to do next and how she would do it, helping my child understand the process and feel comfortable rather than scared. The staff was equally patient and helpful in answering all our questions. A special thank you to Dawn Neressia, and Lynn for being so friendly, caring, and welcoming! The entire team created such a warm and positive atmosphere that made both my children feel relaxed and happy. We truly appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and excellent care from everyone. I had a six-month cleaning on October 21, 2026. Dr. Sydney took great care of my teeth, along with Lynn. The appointment was on time, and the cleaning was quick and painless. They were even able to keep my blood pressure down with lighthearted conversation and genuine concern for their patients. I highly recommend Westgreen Dental in Cypress.
